All in soap land have been awaiting the wedding day of Steve and Becky in Coronation Street, and so far, it seems the two love birds have managed to arrange their wedding and attend hen and stag parties without so much as a prick of drama, but fans are still waiting with baited breath for the wedding day that will air on ITV 1 this Friday at 7.30pm.

Friday’s episode will kick off with best man Lloyd helping happy but hung over groom Steve prepare for the day by straightening his bow tie, brushing out the creases and offering words of encouragement, and a smiley Steve looks forward to the big day ahead where he will tie the knot with the gorgeous Becky. Meanwhile, an excited Becky gets fussed over by Hayley and Natasha who help her into her dress as they all chat excitedly about the wedding.

The wedding day itself gets off to a fantastic start as Steve’s mother and brother turn up followed shortly by Jim, and the pair are ecstatic with how the day is panning out. Like a fairytale, the pair say their vows, kiss and leave as man and wife as guests look on beaming with smiles and tears – However, the wedding reception isn’t quite so perfect. When the happy couple and hoards of guests turn up to the pub for drinking and dancing, everyone is shocked to see the pub on lock down as police search it for drugs. Horrified, realisation sets in and Becky realises this is revenge – courtesy of ex boyfriend and drug dealer Slug and his friend, dodgy policeman, Hooch.

In true soap form, the wedding reception isn’t taken elsewhere for a fantastic night of celebration… things get increasingly worse and Becky’s in the middle of it all. Fans won’t want to miss a second of Coronation Street this month!

In September 2010, the American soap opera As the World Turns will finish after 54 years on television. Coronation Street will at that time become the world’s longest running television soap opera currently on the air.

Monday’s two Coronation Street soap instalments were definitely jam packed full of drama as Joe grows increasingly desperate for another stash of painkillers.

On Monday, in the 7.30pm episode, Joe was shown growing increasingly desperate as he took a trip to the Coronation Street Medical Centre after taking two painkillers that day did nothing for his craving. The temporary doctor on duty felt the heat of Joe’s mood as he demanded a prescription for even more pills – the doctor, both intimidated and confused informed Joe that he should book an appointment, and as Joe raised his voice and became more demanding, Gail walked in to catch him in full swing.

Later on in the following soap episode, Gail demands to know why Joe made a scene in the Medical Centre, but Joe attempts to change the subject, telling Gail it was nothing to worry about, although Gail’s son David soon after continued to taunt him with his stash of pills. Desperate to get his hands on them, Joe asked David what he wants in return for them and David has one request – convince Joe’s daughter Tina get back with him.

Later on in the second showing of the Coronation Street soap drama, a struggling Joe visits his daughter Tina and speaks with her about her current relationship with Jason. He tries to convince a concerned and angry Tina to give David another try, but Tina has none of it and simply ignores her Dad’s concerns, clearly confused at her father’s actions.

It’s both sad and disturbing watching Joe’s desperation in the UK soap and things are set to reach rock bottom for the painkiller addict in more Coronation Street episodes to come.

UK soap opera Coronation street is a street of unlikely and dramatic events this week as Joe reaches the brink of break down, Gail grows more and more worried, Tina and Jason win their bid and Rosie attempts to seduce Luke.

In the next few days, Coronation Street soap viewers will see an extremely desperate Joe steal the keys to the medical centre from Gail’s bag. Soap TV character Gail has been visibly worried about her partner lately, and just as she’s beginning to calm, he pulls a stunt that shocks her even more. In the beginning of the Coronation Street episode, soapy viewers will see Gail frantically searching for Joe, whilst stopping and asking a number of residents whether they’ve seen him – they haven’t.

A slowly suspicious and worried soap star character Gail returns home and suddenly hears an alarm – she realises the alarm is coming from the medical centre and runs to see what had caused the alarm to sound. Unbeknown to her, Joe had snatched her keys earlier that morning. Joe smashes the pharmacy to pieces and ignores the alarm – he is searching desperately for more pain killers and is shaking and in a complete panic. Gail, now worried now she has realised her keys are missing, wanders into the medical centre and finds Joe quivering and upset and is in visible shock.

Will Soapy character Gail now find out the truth about junkie Joe?

On a slightly more happier side of the street, Coronation Street soap TV show love birds Jason and Tina place a winning bid on No. 12 and win it for a bargain at just over £50,000, and Rosie makes it her mission to push Michelle out of the picture and worm her way into Luke’s life.

On the Coronation Street soap TV show, Weatherfield is at the centre of scandal in the next few weeks – soap TV character Joe gets worse in his addiction to pain killers, Fiz continues to hide her engagement to prisoner fiancé John and Becky and Steve start to plan their wedding, but in true Corrie style, things do not go to plan…

In the next week, viewers will see Joe making a scene in the medical centre regarding painkillers but the medical centre do not help and Gail begins to grow worried. Soap opera Coronation Street character David continues teasing poor Joe with pills but wants a hefty price for them. Joe hatches a plan and asks his daughter Tina to make up with David – he figures if his daughter is friends with her ex-boyfriend David, he’ll have more chance of obtaining some pills. Tina thinks he’s mad though, and ignores her desperate Dad.  Later on, Gail asks Joe why he was shouting in the medical centre and starts to grow suspicious. Will Joe tell Gail about his pill popping ways?

Soapy wedding talk will also be heating up in the street in the next week too as soap TV character Chesney rumbles Fiz’s engagement to John. He is extremely angry when he discovers Fiz has been keeping it secret, but he later faces bigger problems as Sally tells Fiz they are going to report Chesney to the police for stealing Rosie’s car! Will Chesney end up in the slammer? Meanwhile, Steve takes his bride-to-be to a top bridal shop and buys his girl the wedding dress of her dreams but Coronation street fans everywhere are waiting for the wedding with baited breath, as no soap opera weddings go ahead without drama!
