Doctors Soap Opera Gossip

Doctors was a string of touching scenes on Friday, and although tears may have fell during the watching of the middle of the episode, viewers across England were smiling towards the end, as at last, soap show land handed us a happy ending.

A slightly worried looking woman wakes up next to her husband Leo, and as soon as his eyes are opened, he smiles and begins cuddling and touching her. Brigit (the woman) looks extremely uncomfortable, and after a few seconds, she pushes her husband away and gets out of bed telling him she has to be in work early for a training course.

Later on, Brigit arrives at work and is immediately heckled by a colleague named Raj. He tells her that she’s loosing her touch as she doesn’t drink much alcohol anymore.
Brigit laughs it off, and the pair flirt with each other. An hour or so later, Brigit leaves for a doctors’ appointment.

Over at The Mill surgery, viewers saw a smiling Zara Carmichael reveal to Brigit that she is indeed 8 weeks pregnant, but Brigit immediately asked for a termination. She’s worried that excessive drinking has damaged her child. Zara calms her down and tells her to come back after she has done some research.

Meanwhile, after being told by Raj in a confusing phone call that there was no training course, Leo turns up looking for his wife, who isn’t there. He believes Raj and Brigit are having an affair, but when Raj tells him about the pregnancy, instead of looking elated, he looks flabbergasted.  It is soon revealed that Leo is incapable of having children, which cues Brigit to tell him that she had a one night stand in Milan in order to get pregnant. Leo is distraught and just as it’s looking like the couple will end their relationship, Leo tears up the termination form and smiles at his wife. They will have the child.

Doctors writers certainly know to pen an eagerly awaited happy ending tear jerker!

Doctors – Episode Review

Yesterday’s episode of Doctors was devastating for poor Cherry. Once Cherry found out last week that friend and colleague Michelle was drinking neat vodka from the bottle whilst at work, there has been nothing but drama and harsh words from Michelle, and yesterday saw the two girls involved in a critical mix up – a result of Michelle’s drinking.

After downing a batch of vodka in her lunch break yesterday, Michelle was seen giving a patient the wrong injection who then went into a state of unconsciousness and fitting and had to be carried away in an ambulance. Fearing for her job, Michelle blamed friend and assistant to the procedure Cherry who was then suspended by Julia.

Today’s Doctors episode focused on a despairing and heartbroken Cherry – reeling from yesterday’s events. Today’s episode named ‘Magic’ saw Simon visiting upset Cherry at home. After he probed her about yesterday’s drama, Cherry came clean and told Simon all about Michelle’s drinking and told him she was drunk at work the previous day which lead to the wrong injection being administered. Simon was in shock and told Cherry to tell Julia the truth, and although hurt and scared of betraying her friend, she agreed.

Over at the surgery, viewers saw a convincing Michelle telling Julia all about Cherry’s clumsiness regarding the wrong injection, but in the middle, Cherry arrived and blurted to Julia that Michelle carries vodka in her bag. When a confused and intrigued Julia checked Michelle’s bag, she found nothing and Cherry was sent out of the surgery until further notice.
As Simon began driving her home, viewers saw Michelle get into her car and pull a large bottle of vodka out of the glove compartment.

Will Julia finally find out the truth about Michelle’s ‘drinking on the job’ and will poor Cherry ever get her job back? Fans are hoping Michelle will be rumbled, and rumour has it that all is revealed this August!

It seems a lot of a soap stars are emigrating to BBC surgery soap opera Doctors, including a bundle of Coronation Street stars.

Ex-Coronation Street star Matthew Crompton will be making a guest appearance on Doctors as a Leo – a husband with fertility problems – in a fortnight and will be caught up in an adultery story line when he discovers his wife is pregnant. Knowing he cannot have children, Matthew’s character is then forced to find out the truth about his wife’s one night stand on holiday and the pair are then faced with two things – fixing their marriage and making a decision about keeping the illegitimate child.

Corrie favourite Ian Reddington, who played Vernon in Weatherfield for many years will be seen in Doctors in October and is rumoured to play a sleazy and untoward businessman named Tim, for just one episode.

Tim and Dr Jimmi Clay are said to meet at a funeral of a mutual friend, but when Tim becomes involved in a fight with a homeless man, Jimmi tends to his injuries to only learn some home truths about this nasty entrepreneur.

It also seems that two characters are leaving the winding streets of soap village Emmerdale for appearances on the UK soap Doctors this September, as Lorraine Chase and Caroline Strong join the soap for one episode.
The pair who played Steph Forsythe and Melanie Doland will appear in an episode revolved around a prostitute and a grieving daughter.
After daughter Melanie Webber (played by Caroline Strong) finds secrets in her dead father’s diary, she discovers he wasn’t who she quite thought he was and her discoveries lead her to a woman named Carol – a prostitute played by Lorraine Chase.

This summer is set to introduce a number of famous soap opera faces to beloved surgery drama Doctors.

Doctors Soap Opera Gossip

The Mill Medical Centre in UK soap Doctors is certainly housing a parade of drama in the next week, as Michelle’s drinking habit starts to affect her work and patients.

Cheerful Cherry begins her shift on Wednesday with a smile on her face, armed with home made cakes. As she passes the special cake she has made to Michelle, she storms off, having had a run in with Cherry a few days ago when she asked if she was drinking at work.

Michelle moans to everyone about the huge hoard of people queuing up for travel injections, and despite Cherry trying to keep the atmosphere positive, Michelle carries on complaining.
Before lunch, Michelle nips into the toilets for a break from the queuing patients and downs vodka straight from the bottle.

One of the first patients to get their jab is a handsome youngster named Ciaran who explains to Cherry and Michelle that he is petrified of needles. As Cherry smiles and tries to reassure him, Michelle storms off to get the injection. As she gives Ciaran the jab, he starts fitting and goes into anaphylactic shock – a drunken Michelle had administered the wrong injection and young Ciaran is carted off in an ambulance.

Horrified, Julia takes the pair into her office and demands to know how the mix up came about. Cherry looks awkward and contemplates whether to tell the truth, but before she can, Michelle lies and tells Julia that Cherry had handed her the wrong needle – before poor wrongly accused Cherry can argue, she is suspended from the surgery.

Fans wait with baited breath to see if Michelle’s drinking secret will be revealed to her colleagues in UK soap opera Doctors this summer.

Dr Zara Carmichael doctors

The thing that makes Doctors such a celebrated and famous soap is the fact that instead of the drama focusing solely on the characters, the drama and scandal does sometimes revolve around the lives and tribulations of the far from squeaky clean, drama free doctors, and one character that has certainly had her fair share of downs this summer is fan favourite, Dr Zara Carmichael.

Zara joined the Mill Medical Centre in June 2009 and is a flirty, happy go lucky person, always ready to flash a smile to the next handsome man she sees – which happened to be hunky Dr Daniel Granger who, too, works at the Mill. Since her arrival in Letherbridge, Daniel has been flirting with, and trying to impress Zara, although when Zara asked him out for a drink, he declined attempting to ‘play hard to get’.

Unfortunately, it seemed Zara could play that game better than him, and the pair non-stop flirt with each other at work, as Zara teases him and plays with his mind.
Weeks ago, Zara was seen turning up to Daniel’s apartment and the pair hopped straight into bed, but shortly after, Zara insisted that it could never happen again, as she doesn’t mix work and pleasure.

In the last few weeks, Zara has encountered a slightly more serious situation – she was diagnosed with Early Onset Menopause at just 30 years old.
Strong willed Zara has dealt with the side effects admirably, but is having trouble with the fact that she will never be able to conceive.

Confident, strong, sexy and intelligent – these are certainly some of the reasons Doctors fans love Dr Zara Carmichael.
