Emmerdale Character Review

Soap Opera: Emmerdale
Character’s Name: Nicola De Souza
UK Soap Actor’s Name: Nicola Wheeler

Loudmouth Nicola first arrived in the small soap village of Emmerdale in January 2001 where she wandered into the Woolpack looking for half-sister Bernice.
Upon her arriving, Nicola befriended village sweetheart Emily and talked her Dad into letting her stay with him. Within months, Nicola was engaged to sexy chef Carlos Diaz who unbeknown to her, was having an affair with her sister Bernice! All was revealed in true soap style on the wedding day, and it was then that Nicola’s ‘nasty’ streak came to a head, and since, Nicola has seduced many Emmerdale residents, attempted to fleece her brother’s partner, and also attempted to murder millionaire ex husband, Donald.

Actress Nicola Wheeler talked of the scenes leading up to Donald’s attempted murder and explained Nicola’s characteristics to a tee!
“Nicola has every intention of killing Donald – but that will probably save his life. She’s useless!” Nicola spoke of her character’s complacent but evil ways. As much as her character has encountered a hoard of drama, actress who players Nicola De Souza, Nicola Wheeler has lead a very simple life! 35 year old Nicola started her acting career some years ago and appeared in rival soap Coronation Street where she played Melanie Tindal and she also appeared in her local pantomime after Emmerdale fame as, ironically, the wicked witch.

Nicola Wheeler is known for playing the nasty and sneaky roles and was even voted ‘Best Bitch’ in the 2006 British Soap Awards. Nicola De Souza has recently given birth on Emmerdale, and viewers have seen a slightly more reserved and motherly Nicola since. Will this be the end of Nicola’s nasty ways?

Emmerdale – Episode Review

Tonight was certainly a gripping episode of Emmerdale, as Lexi hit rock bottom and Carl tells her his feelings and she painfully learns the truth about her marriage.

Since Nicola gave birth to a baby girl last week, Nicola has noticed how scared Lexi is about holding the child and in the first half of tonight’s Emmerdale instalment, Nicola told Lexi that if she is desperate for a child, she should find someone that is willing to give her what she wants, as husband Carl certainly doesn’t want to.Later on, whilst Nicola was out of the room, a nurse handed t he baby to Lexi (presuming she was the mother) and distraught Lexi struggled to keep calm. Viewers soon saw Lexi look deep into the newborn’s eyes and soon, she began wandering the post-natal ward with the baby in her arms.

In a heart breaking scene, Lexi then wandered onto a ward of happy couples and their newborn babies and completely awash with upset, disappeared out of the ward exit with the baby.
As Nicola and Jimmy returned to find baby girl Angelica missing, Scarlett entered and told the couple that she had just seen Lexi with the baby and knowing the state she is in, the pair panicked and began searching the hospital and minutes later they found her – on the hospital roof!

Emmerdale
then kept viewers waiting for the second instalment which aired 30 minutes later, full of answers, drama and stomach turning scenes. With Nicola, Jimmy and now Carl on the roof trying to coax Lexi to pass over Angelica, Lexi began demanding to know why Carl didn’t want to have children. He stuttered and stammered, but after brother Jimmy advised Carl to tell the truth, Lexi wobbled and almost slipped with the baby in her arms when Carl admitted he doesn’t love her and never has.

Soap fans have been suspecting of Carl’s feelings towards Lexi for months, and it seems Emmerdale confirmed it for the nation tonight. How will Lexi ever get over this devastating news – find out this summer on Emmerdale.

Emmerdale

As the weather gets hotter – so does UK soap Emmerdale.

Monday’s episode will kick off with Natasha slowly losing her rag. Ryan turns up at Home Farm, ready for a night out with Nathan and is left in the lounge whilst Nathan goes to get changed. Mark then walks in – unbeknown to him, his estranged father – and the pair are faced with awkward silences and forced conversation.
During the few minutes of awkwardness, Natasha returns home and is horrified to find Ryan in their home. During the day, Natasha had bumped into Ryan’s mother Faye and after one too many unplanned liaisons, Natasha loses it and vows to push Ryan and his mother out of the village for good, but with such a strong mind, it’s clear Faye won’t be going anywhere soon… not without Mark.

A little later, Natasha begins to conjure up a plan to get Ryan and Faye out of Emmerdale, and asks Mark to call his friend abroad to get Ryan a job. Upset at being told to ship his son to another country, Mark puts the phone call off and looks visibly deep in thought at what course of action to take.

Viewers would have seen Nicola give birth to her baby this week, just minutes after an argument with Lexi and Carl, after they revealed their marriage was in tatters. Clearly trying to help, Nicola was accidently knocked down a flight of stairs by Lexi, which triggered the early birth. When Carl turns up to the hospital on Monday after a few drinks at the Woolpack, Nicola fumes at him and demands that he goes home and sorts his marriage with Lexi – although Lexi is also in complete denial.
Will this struggling couple continue to sweep their issues under the carpet?

From Emmerdale – the most dramatic village in the UK – straight to your television screens, week nights at 7pm on ITV.

Emmerdale Soap Character Profile – Lexi King (Sally Oliver)

Soap: Emmerdale
Character Name: Lexi King
Actor Name: Sally Oliver

29 year old Emmerdale resident Lexi King is at the centre of a village drama at the moment, but it hasn’t always been rainstorms and tears for this village beauty.

Lexi King (played by Sally Oliver) first appeared in Emmerdale in July 2007 – in nothing but her underwear! Lexi made her very first entrance through the window of Home Farm in nothing but a bra and pair of knickers shocking her sister Carrie and the King family, and she soon settled in and grabbed a job as a bar maid at the Woolpack, although it didn’t take smarty Lexi long to get a better job at Pollard and Pollard as a supervisor.

After appearing in many stage shows, 25 year old Sally Oliver who plays Lexi finally won her first television role in Emmerdale and claims she was amazed. “I can’t really put words and feelings to it. I’d been doing a disgusting temp job” she said “You don’t dare believe you could get it [the part]. When you do it feels unreal”. Sally Oliver has had a number of claims to fame in her acting career for such a young actress, including taking over from Gwyneth Paltrow’s role of Catherine in stage show ‘Proof’. Although Sally was born in Norfolk, she grew up and studied in Dagenham in Essex, before relocating to Yorkshire for Emmerdale.

If finding out her sister was in fact her mother wasn’t enough drama, Sally’s character Lexi is now suffering marriage problems with husband Carl but word on the street is that things are set to get even more heated for Lexi King of Emmerdale.

Emmerdale Soap Gossip

Emmerdale newbie Faye and her son Ryan are wanted out of the village by Faye’s ex husband’s new love Natasha, and next week will show that all of Natasha’s sneaky efforts have been for nothing. On top of that, Lexi struggles when visiting Nicola and Carl causes more grief in his marriage.

Last week, viewers saw a fuming Natasha asking her husband Mark to get rid of his ex wife and son, whatever it takes. Natasha suggested that Mark contacted a business friend of his in Dubai in order to set up a job over there for his son, Ryan. That way, Ryan and mother Faye would leave Emmerdale and leave Natasha and Mark alone. Although reluctant, Mark followed his wife’s wishes and offered Ryan a job abroad. Next week, Emmerdale fans will see Faye approach Natasha and Mark in the Woolpack and ask them their motives behind offering her son the job.
Natasha tells Faye that the job abroad could be a fantastic new start for the pair but Faye sees right through her and tells her that she and Ryan aren’t going anywhere. Natasha is growing more and more desperate, but will she ever succeed in ridding of the pair from Emmerdale?

Over at the local hospital, Nicola and her baby are doing well, and Lexi drops by to visit. As Nicola coos over her baby, Lexi is clearly struggling, and when Carl turns up and starts mollycoddling the baby, Lexi screams at him that she wants a baby, but Carl ignores her and walks out. How long can Carl keep ignoring his marriage issues and how far will Lexi go in order to get a child?

Drama reaches an ultimate high in Emmerdale this summer, and fans will not want to miss a second of the soap action.

James Sutton

UK actor James Sutton has had his fair share of soap drama. James is best known for his role in Hollyoaks where he played gay teenager John Paul McQueen and his most recent post as Ryan Lamb in Emmerdale.

It’s safe to say that James Sutton is somewhat an expert soap actor after starring in two of best UK soaps, as well as a short appearance in hospital drama Casualty in just three years but Sutton has worked hard for his craft. After being born and raised in Sutton Coldfield as James Cook until he was 14 (he changed his last name for his stage name in respect to his home town), James and his family moved to Newport, where James studied the rest of his secondary education at Burton Borough School. After leaving school at 16 years old, James went on to study the arts and drama at the Royal Welsh College in Cardiff, Wales.

At age 23, James was hired to play troubled teen John Paul in hip and trendy soap Hollyoaks, where he endured an array of difficult and dramatic story lines that won him many awards.
James’ character John Paul embarked on a gay affair with best friend Craig Dean, after months of arriving in Hollyoaks.

“I was very, very keen to make this character a straight-acting gay man. He’s just a normal guy, like any other guy” James said. “He likes all the same things that straight men like. He just happens to like blokes, and that’s it.”

After gaining respect as John Paul, James quit the show in 2008 and can now be seen portraying Ryan Lamb – son to mother Faye and bigamist father Mark on UK soap Emmerdale and has a string of juicy story lines set to explode this year.

Since being launched full time into the show, Debbie Dingle has had a mass of dramatic story lines including pregnancy, dodgy dealings, helping rid of a dead body and going to jail, but actress 21 year old Charley Webb admits she loves playing Debbie and has come across many professional challenges whilst playing her.

“Debbie’s a great character. I remember when I was taken into the producers to talk about the story line when she was pregnant” she told OK magazine “Obviously I was quite young at the time and I was going to have to give birth on screen, which is a big thing to take on”.

Outside of Emmerdale, Charley has posed for many magazines, and has become quite the icon but Charley admits she does what she can to try and keep her life simple and out of the public eye, unlike her character Debbie’s! Emmerdale Soap TV Show Episode Guide

It all happened to Val in tonight’s episode of the soap tv show Emmerdale and it looks like her sneaky and deceitful ways have caught up with her and it’s looking like she’ll lose everything she held dear – but does she deserve it?

After the Emmerdale soap TV character’s sister Diane butt her nose in, Val was forced tonight, to tell husband Eric Pollard – businessman and entrepreneur – everything about her attempt to seduce Rodney. After accusing sister Diane earlier in the week for moving in on her ex, Rodney, viewers saw Val doll herself up in her best clothes and make up and make her way over to Rodney’s home. Although ‘happily’ married to Rodney, Val believed if she seduced Rodney, Diane would never give a second thought to getting back with him, and that’s exactly what she did. Although exceptionally reluctant, Rodney eventually kissed Val but after she revealed why she was kissing him, he threw her out, absolutely disgusted. Later on, Val begged Rodney to not tell Diane but whilst the pair were arguing, Diane saw and dragged the pair into the back room of the pub and demanded to know what is going on – Rodney revealed all and Diane pressed Val to tell her unsuspecting husband.

In tonight’s episode of the soap opera Emmerdale, husband Eric Pollard demands to know what the argument was about and a distraught Val runs out of the pub and he immediately goes after her and bangs on the door of their cottage. Val finally confesses and Eric reacts terribly – he refuses to let Val touch him and throws a bottle of vodka against the wall whilst he shakes in anger and tells her that she is never to come back home. Val, sobbing, runs back to the pub where she has a confrontation with Diane – angry that her sister poked her nose in, she makes fun of Diane’s dead husband and Diane is horrified and loses it, throwing her out of the pub and ‘out of her life’.

It seems Val has just gone too far this time – has she lost her entire family and her home or will Diane once again, forgive her?
