UK Soap TV – Eastenders Episode Review

It was all punches, weddings and revelations in Tuesday’s Eastenders, as the most unlikely affair in soap history finally came to a head.

Some weeks ago, it was revealed that ‘gruff’ divorcee Phil Mitchell was having a wild affair with model-like widow Dawn – unbeknown to her love struck boyfriend Garry. Although Garry’s best friend Minty found out, he vowed to not tell him – but only if she told him herself. Completely torn between her two loves, Dawn scooted off to stay with her mother in the country, but upon her return, none the wiser, Minty pressed Dawn to choose – Phil or Garry?

After having a difficult time coming to a decision, Tuesday’s episode was filled with soapy drama and saw Dawn attempting to explain to Minty that she was having trouble deciding. As she continued, Dawn could see that Minty was growing more angry and suddenly blurted out that she had ended things with Phil and that he was upset at her decision.

Later, Minty saw Phil and Phil insisted he ‘wouldn’t be bothered in the slightest’ if Dawn decided to end things. Angry to find out Dawn hadn’t actually made a decision, Minty finds Dawn and tells her his conversation with Phil and demands she comes clean. But Dawn has other ideas…

Eastenders would certainly not be the UK soap we all know and love without a good brawl, and seething Dawn heads on over to the Vic. She screams at Phil for leading her on and is in shock that he doesn’t care for their relationship. In true Eastenders style, when Phil announces ‘it was only a bit of fun’ Dawn lunges for him. Unfortunately, Phil blocks her punch and Dawn storms out.

Later on in the episode, UK soap star characters Dawn and Garry return to the pub and announce to the whole building – they are getting married.
Although over the moon for Garry, fans can’t help but wonder if this will all come out in the wash… and on the wedding day in true UK soap style.

Soap Star Character Peggy Mitchell on Eastenders

Soap: Eastenders

Character Name: Peggy Mitchell

Actor Name: Barbara Windsor

Soap TV show Eastenders character Peggy Mitchell is an Albert Square veteran – the mother of Phil, Sam and Grant Mitchell, Peggy has had more of her fair share of drama and unbelievably enough, all Peggy is after is the simple and easy life but it never seems to happen for her!

70 year old glamour puss soap star character Barbara Windsor who has been playing Peggy since 2004, is mostly known for her Eastenders role and many Carry On films that she acted in when she was younger always portraying roles of the ‘good time girl’ and was known for being a ditzy blonde in sexy attire! Lately, her character in Eastenders, Peggy, has been going through a difficult time with new husband nasty Archie, played by Larry Lamb. Although the characters have an explosive relationship on sceen, Barbara often expresses her fondness for Larry. “I used to watch Larry and think ‘Oh I wish I could work with him’” Barbara says “I am so glad he’s in it”. She also described her first scenes with Larry as ‘wonderful’ and a match made in Eastenders soapy heaven.

It has also been announced that her on screen estranged and imprisoned daughter Sam Mitchell will be returning to the square, and as Barbara has such a great relationship with all of her on screen children, she was delighted to hear she was returning and is already speculating how their characters will react. “There’ll be her, my little princess, Ronnie and Roxy… Phil doesn’t stand a chance, does he?”.

70 year old Peggy has no intentions of leaving the Eastenders soap any time soon and that is certainly great news for fans of the Eastenders land lady!

Emmerdale Soap TV Show Episode Guide

It all happened to Val in tonight’s episode of the soap tv show Emmerdale and it looks like her sneaky and deceitful ways have caught up with her and it’s looking like she’ll lose everything she held dear – but does she deserve it?

After the Emmerdale soap TV character’s sister Diane butt her nose in, Val was forced tonight, to tell husband Eric Pollard – businessman and entrepreneur – everything about her attempt to seduce Rodney. After accusing sister Diane earlier in the week for moving in on her ex, Rodney, viewers saw Val doll herself up in her best clothes and make up and make her way over to Rodney’s home. Although ‘happily’ married to Rodney, Val believed if she seduced Rodney, Diane would never give a second thought to getting back with him, and that’s exactly what she did. Although exceptionally reluctant, Rodney eventually kissed Val but after she revealed why she was kissing him, he threw her out, absolutely disgusted. Later on, Val begged Rodney to not tell Diane but whilst the pair were arguing, Diane saw and dragged the pair into the back room of the pub and demanded to know what is going on – Rodney revealed all and Diane pressed Val to tell her unsuspecting husband.

In tonight’s episode of the soap opera Emmerdale, husband Eric Pollard demands to know what the argument was about and a distraught Val runs out of the pub and he immediately goes after her and bangs on the door of their cottage. Val finally confesses and Eric reacts terribly – he refuses to let Val touch him and throws a bottle of vodka against the wall whilst he shakes in anger and tells her that she is never to come back home. Val, sobbing, runs back to the pub where she has a confrontation with Diane – angry that her sister poked her nose in, she makes fun of Diane’s dead husband and Diane is horrified and loses it, throwing her out of the pub and ‘out of her life’.

It seems Val has just gone too far this time – has she lost her entire family and her home or will Diane once again, forgive her?

UK Soap Character Billy Mitchell on Eastenders

Soap: Eastenders

Character Name: Billy Mitchell

Actor Name: Perry Fenwick

UK Soap character Billy Mitchell first stumbled on to Albert Square 11 years ago in 1998. In this episode, Phil Mitchell – his thug cousin – visited Billy and his nephew Jamie. Although this was his first scene on UK soap TV show Eastenders, Billy didn’t appear again on screen until August 2nd of the following year. During his visit, Phil noticed nephew Jamie looking subdued and abused, and it soon surfaced that Billy was beating his young teenage nephew. Billy was actually in fact scripted to appear in just four episodes, but towards the end of 1999, it seemed that UK soap tv show Eastenders’ script writers had decided to use him as a recurring character. “I was offered four episodes and here I am, about 800 later” Perry said “Ross Kemp said that he was leaving, and there was a gap in the Mitchell family, so they brought me back to do stuff towards his leaving. After that they offered me a year”.

During Billy’s first Eastenders episodes, he was utterly hated by viewers but within a year, it seemed Billy was a changed man and he soon met Honey Edwards, an innocent and somewhat comedic soap character and fans immediately warmed to him. Shortly after marrying, Billy and Honey had a child named Janet who was born with down-syndrome. Regardless of Honey rejecting the baby, Billy had never been prouder. Perry admitted he was worried about filming the scenes following Janet’s birth, telling the BBC “we wanted to get our reactions right. It was very difficult to film, but satisfying to do.” Honey and Billy eventually divorced after Billy’s past behaviour crept up on him and he stole. He is pulling pints and living at the Vic – the Square’s pub. Perry recently summed up his soap tv character in one sentence and fans will no doubt agree his description is spot on! “He’s the sort of bloke who would win the lottery and lose the ticket.”

Eastenders Soap TV Episode Review

Eastenders is brimming with separate juicy story lines at the moment. With Heather’s mystery baby and Christian and Syed’s love affair, this London based soap opera is set to get even more juicy over the next few weeks.

The question on everybody’s mind for the past few weeks has been regarding Eastenders soap tv characters Heather and her recently acquired baby bump. When Heather Trott revealed to the square that she was pregnant, viewers and residents alike have been speculating as to who the father is. Heather has only recently divorced from Minty – a couple married in aid of a competition. Although Minty and Heather’s marriage was purely for money and a holiday, the pair did eventually admit their shared like for each other and viewers immediately assumed the father was Minty.

After being questioned by their divorce lawyers, it became crystal clear that the father could not be Minty as the pair had never slept together. Now, Heather’s best friend Shirley is among a hoard of people interested to know who is fathering her baby bump. Could it be a one night stand with a stranger in R&R some weeks ago, or could it be Garry, Minty’s best friend? There have even been soap gossip speculations stating that it could even be IVF – a desperate move made by Heather to trap Minty, but was just too late.

Meanwhile, viewers stared in shock when Muslim 20something Syed kissed openly gay Christian. The pair embarked on an affair whilst Syed’s fiancé Amira, arranged wedding plans. Now the wedding is just around the corner and Christian is at rock bottom. Picking up a random man in the Vic, Christian got more than he bargained for when the stranger turned out to be a violent thug and beat Christian out cold. Fans are now wondering if Amira and Syed will tie the knot and whether a struggling Christian will reveal all before they make it down the aisle.
