Tombola Bingo Advertising
Last year, we were all familiar with the catchy fairground themed Tombola Bingo TV advert. Tiny bingo balls with faces hopped onto giant roller coasters and fairground rides, all cleverly in theme and based on the unique and clever games available at their popular website.

When Sun Bingo decided to up sticks and leave the Tombola.co.uk brand, it seems the team began to branch out alone and finally had the freedom to boast about their very own beloved games in wonderful advertising ventures. The animated television advert including bright colours, eye catching images and attention stealing music and included a recognisable voice over from TV personality Denise Van Outen but news soon surfaced that it had been banned due to some members of the public believing it appealed to children. This then left the marketing team at Tombola faced with concocting a new idea for some fresh and suitable advertising.
Just two months ago, Tombola announced that they were travelling to an exotic island, armed with extras and quirky characters to film numerous brand new bingo television adverts and began posting teasers. Just weeks later, the first advert was shown on our television – mainly on leading channel ITV1. The advert starts with a soft speaking presenter informing viewers that many bingo fans sign up to Tombola every week against an exotic backdrop.
People then arrive being piggy backed through the sea and are then taken on a swift tour of the island, visiting sights such as a shack named ‘Cinco’ and a glittering sign of Bingo 90. Just 40 seconds long, the advert is an advertising triumph, as a huge amount of information is revealed in little words with wonderful and imaginative imagery. A fortnight ago, after the release of new game Bingo 50, another 3 TV adverts were launched including equally as beautiful and quirky scenes. Tombola have certainly ‘nailed’ this year’s advertising to a tee.
